 Devī Sūktam — An Echo of the Nondual Divine Feminine 

Merely listening to it gives one goosebumps. The Devī Sūktam is an ancient Ṛgvedic hymn — a majestic invocation of the Feminine, the Śakti, the Yin principle of existence. In it, the Goddess describes Herself as the force that moves the world — motion, action, rhythm, and sustenance — the cyclical pulse of life itself. 

She is the giver of civilisation, of culture, and of speech (Vāk) — the breath of order offered to nomadic man, the balance to his restless masculinity. Thrillingly, She proclaims Herself to be the Queen, the sustaining power behind the gods — Vāyu (wind), Rudra (disease and dissolution), Sūrya (the sun), Candra (the moon), and Indra (lightning). 
In doing so, She identifies Herself as Prakṛti, the living Nature that both births and nourishes the universe. 

“Śṛṇudhī śruta śraddhivam te vadāmi — Listen carefully to what I tell you, words worthy even for sages and gods to hear,” She commands — a call that awakens the listener to the inner Voice, the Goddess of Speech (Vāk Devatā) Herself, the embodiment of intuition and creativity. 

The sheer alliteration of that verse enchants; its meaning, even more so, humbles. She acknowledges that chance — grace, luck, destiny — underlies every success. And She declares Herself the bestower of that grace: that even a wild man, if She so wills, may awaken into wisdom, become a sage, or rise as Brahmā himself. 

She is the One who strings the bow and hands it to Rudra, commanding him to strike down the foes of Brahman — the obstacles that obscure knowledge. Here, the supportive and consort aspect of the Feminine shines through — She who does not fight at the forefront, yet provides the strength, the preparation, and the will to conquer. 

Then, almost thunderously, She proclaims: 

“Know Me, O child, with humility, 
for I it was who bore your earliest forefathers, 
carrying them within My womb of waters.” 

Thus, the life-bearing aspect of the Feminine becomes radiant and unmistakable. 

She warns with gravity that those who ignore Her voice — the source of creation, the Feminine, the inner whisper of wisdom — shall merely decay in flesh, having conquered only the material. 

And finally, She reveals Her transcendental majesty: “I pervade the earth and the skies. 
With but a touch, I enliven barren worlds. 
I move universes as the wind moves leaves. 
My full greatness lies hidden —  
beyond this earth, beyond this sky.” 

अ॒हं रु॒द्रेभि॒र्वसु॑भिश्चराम्य॒हमा॑दि॒त्यैरु॒त वि॒श्वदे॑वैः ।

अ॒हं मि॒त्रावरु॑णो॒भा बि॑भर्म्य॒हमिं॑द्रा॒ग्नी अ॒हम॒श्विनो॒भा ॥

अ॒हं सोम॑माह॒नसं॑ बिभर्म्य॒हं त्वष्टा॑रमु॒त पू॒षणं॒ भगं॑ ।

अ॒हं द॑धामि॒ द्रवि॑णं ह॒विष्म॑ते सुप्रा॒व्ये॒३॒॑ यज॑मानाय सुन्व॒ते ॥

अ॒हं राष्ट्री॑ सं॒गम॑नी॒ वसू॑नां चिकि॒तुषी॑ प्रथ॒मा य॒ज्ञिया॑नां ।

तां मा॑ दे॒वा व्य॑दधुः पुरु॒त्रा भूरि॑स्थात्रां॒ भूर्या॑वे॒शयं॑तीं ॥

मया॒ सो अन्न॑मत्ति॒ यो वि॒पश्य॑ति॒ यः प्राणि॑ति॒ य ईं॑ शृ॒णोत्यु॒क्तं ।

अ॒मं॒तवो॒ मां त उप॑ क्षियंति श्रु॒धि श्रु॑त श्रद्धि॒वं ते॑ वदामि ॥

अ॒हमे॒व स्व॒यमि॒दं व॑दामि॒ जुष्टं॑ दे॒वेभि॑रु॒त मानु॑षेभिः ।

यं का॒मये॒ तंत॑मु॒ग्रं कृ॑णोमि॒ तं ब्र॒ह्माणं॒ तमृषिं॒ तं सु॑मे॒धां ॥

अ॒हं रु॒द्राय॒ धनु॒रा त॑नोमि ब्रह्म॒द्विषे॒ शर॑वे॒ हंत॒वा उ॑ ।

अ॒हं जना॑य स॒मदं॑ कृणोम्य॒हं द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी आ वि॑वेश ॥

अ॒हं सु॑वे पि॒तर॑मस्य मू॒र्धन्मम॒ योनि॑र॒प्स्वं१॒॑तः स॑मु॒द्रे ।

ततो॒ वि ति॑ष्ठे॒ भुव॒नानु॒ विश्वो॒तामूं द्यां व॒र्ष्मणोप॑ स्पृशामि ॥

अ॒हमे॒व वात॑ इव॒ प्र वा॑म्या॒रभ॑माणा॒ भुव॑नानि॒ विश्वा॑ ।

प॒रो दि॒वा प॒र ए॒ना पृ॑थि॒व्यैताव॑ती महि॒ना सं ब॑भूव ॥
